The Outer Cover
The Saucy Brown Boomer range of beds have a quality waterproof outer cover made of tough 600 denier Gunbag polyester with a PVC backing. The cover is both overlocked and sewn for strength.
The fabric is a practical dark brown colour so it does not show the dirt. This quality cover is easy to keep clean. You can just allow any dirt to dry and then vacuum it off or it can easily be wiped over with a sponge or damp cloth. If necessary it can also be machine washed at 30 degrees using a proper cleaner designed for waterproof fabrics, but most of the time it is not necessary, especially if you use an over cover.
Like other quality waterproof products it cannot be washed in detergent otherwise its waterproof qualities can be affected.
Fastening
It is made in a pillowcase style so there are no zips or other fastenings to chew or break. The inner flat is a generous width so the filling is protected and the foam keeps the cover pullled tight so the flap does not bulge open.
The Filling
The foam filling is 5cm (2") thick top grade upholstery foam in the medium, large and extra large beds. We use 2" white foam in the extra small and small beds as standard. This is because the blue foam could be considered to be slightly too firm for some small lightweight dogs. If you would like blue foam in a small bed, at the same price as the white foam, please make sure you order the correct product as both are listed on this page.
Blue upholstery foam of this density and quality is an ideal filling as it keeps it shape and does not go flat for years under normal use. It is rare to see such a good quality filling used in a dog bed. The foam is fire retardent.

This tough practical bed is very comfortable and does not squash up or go flat and lumpy. It does not take up a lot of room, as it is not bulky, yet it gives your dog far more consistant support than he would receive from most other deeper hollow fibre filled beds.
It can be used on its own or in conjunction with a separate machine washable over cover that slips over the bed for easy maintenance. The over cover makes it even easier for you to keep the Boomer Bed clean and hygenic at all times.
