Flectabed’s Qualities

Flectabed uses a revoluntary lightweight heat reflecting insulating material, developed as a result of NASA research into aluminised surfaces, to reflect back up to 95% of the heat radiated from your pet.

The inner quilt combines two key elements of thermal insulation to keep pets exceptionally warm. First, multi layered fibres trap pockets of warm air to reduce heat loss and, secondly, the reflective surfaces of the filling material reflect any lost body heat back to the pet.

Outer Fleece Cover With Permafresh

The top surface of the cover is a superior quality fleece and moisture passes through it easily, so wet or damp pets are still effectively insulated from chills.

The fleece is treated with Permafresh fibre, a non toxic agent which migrates into the fibres of the bed and does not allow the dust mite to live on its surface.

It continuously releases molecules that provide 100% effective safe control of bacteria, mould, mildew and fungi - often the cause of bad odours. Dead skin is prevented from decaying and this has the effect of starving the house mite so it dies.

The Fleece cover with Permafresh is therefore very beneficial for animals with skin conditions and allergies.

Uses

Use in the house, crate or kennel. Flectabed is not recommended for use in whelping.

Comment

Three different types of outer covers are available in the Flectabed range and they can all be purchased separately: fleece, fleece with integrated Permafresh (as described here), and Flectabed Q which is quilted and is available in cream and brown.

The heat reflecting filling is identical in all three versions of the bed.
